The incident occurred in Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton, just after 3.45pm, with the child rushed to hospital with a serious head injury, Greater Manchester Police have said. Photos from the scene show a cordon with police vehicles nearby, as well as an air ambulance flying overhead. A Northwest Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "An ambulance has taken a 12-year-old boy to hospital in a critically ill condition. "It follows an RTC involving a car and pedestrian on Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton-Cum-Hardy. "An air ambulance, advanced paramedic, and three rapid response vehicle also responded to the incident."
