Boy Meets World actor Ben Savage announces bid for congressional seat
Ben Savage, known for his role in the 90s sitcom Boy Meets World, has announced his candidacy for the congressional seat in Los Angeles currently held by Adam Schiff. The actor, who has a political science degree and interned for US senator Arlen Specter in 2003, ran unsuccessfully for the West Hollywood city council last year. In the upcoming election, he will run in the heavily-Democratic 30th district, which includes parts of northern Los Angeles. Savage believes that the government could operate at maximum capacity if unhindered by political divisions and special interests, and has expressed support for organized labor and affordable housing.
