Boy in China accidentally served mock display instead of frozen yogurt - Asean+

Ice cream maker Häagen-Dazs has apologised after a boy in eastern China tried to eat a display model that had been sold in error. It was topped with real nuts, which the boy ate, but they only realised it was a display model when he complained that he could not scoop up the fake yogurt, which was made with silica gel. The boy’s mother, identified only by her surname Jiang, said she found a “not for sale” label on the outside the tub. He said an employee who does not normally serve customers directly had been told to serve the boy and his uncle and had accidentally given them the display model. The boy was sent to a hospital immediately and physical examinations did not detect any problems yet.
