Key members of the government’s congressional alliance have openly said that electoral wrongdoing might be grounds for Temer’s removal from office, and Temer recently spoke about it himself. These events – losing allies from the top echelons of his government and the recent allegations – by themselves have already fractured and shaken Temer’s government. If they proceed further, it could pose profound concern for the survival of Temer’s government, particularly in the context of its total political immobility. Brazil is still in the intensive care unit and Temer needs to act to help out.
