The chairman of Brega Company for Oil Marketing, Fouad Balrahim, has announced the resumption of registration for the second phase of a nationwide cooking gas cylinder distribution scheme. Balrahim said the company had contracted to supply two million cylinders, with 1.5 million already delivered, as part of efforts to meet rising demand across the country. He added that 6,000 cylinders had been produced locally at a newly established factory, in cooperation with the Libyan Iron and Steel Company and the Military Manufacturing Authority. Production is currently in a trial phase ahead of a planned expansion. The official said the combined measures, alongside the completion of imports, are expected to end shortages of cooking gas cylinders by the end of 2026.
