• President Trump takes another swipe at China. In opening remarks to the U.N. Security Council, Mr. Trump accused China of meddling with U.S. midterm elections. He provided no evidence, but the president has previously criticized China’s retaliatory tariffs aimed at industries in politically crucial states. “They do not want me or us to win, because I am the first president to ever challenge China on trade,” Mr. Trump said. PS: The 15-member Security Council is the U.N.’s most important arm, with the power to impose sanctions and authorize military interventions.
