The mayor of Bridgeport plans to appeal directly to Democratic voters in Connecticut to gauge whether they are willing to put a convicted felon on the ballot during this summer’s primary for governor. On Monday, Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim, who announced his intention to run in January, said he will collect signatures to qualify for the primary. His campaign will need to collect nearly 15,500 signatures from registered Democrats to compete in the primary. The signatures are due by June 12.
