Leverage government schemes: Another important strategy to boost the women workforce in the industry is to leverage government’s initiatives such as Stand-Up India for women led enterprises and PLI quotas for gender diversity. As India moves towards its ambitious dream to become a $5 trillion economy by 2028, the Manufacturing industry is positioned as a vital engine. Between 2017-18 and 2023-24, the women workforce in the industry accounted for 74% new manufacturing jobs, with 46% rural women involved in this growth. There are around 40% of women workers lack vocational training and limiting upward mobility. To prevent this, the staffing industry should play at the forefront and leverage its networks to connect women with safe and skill-aligned roles.
