According to reports, just 15 of approximately 58 000 people who attended pilot events as part of the UK's Events Research Programme (ERP) have tested positive for Covid-19. The Events Research Programme "aims to examine the risk of transmission of Covid-19 from attendance at events and explore ways to enable people to attend a range of events safely," the UK government website explains. The programme ran several pilot events, including the 2021 Brit Awards, concerts and football matches, allowing thousands of guests to attend. Of the approximately 58 000 people who attended these events, just 15 tested positive for Covid-19 afterwards, according to a story by The Telegraph. According to the publication, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will receive a report detailing findings of the Events Research Programme, which will include recommendations for the way forward.
