Britain has been the leading digital economy in the G20 for the past five years, which suggests that someone, somewhere, is getting something right. BT lobbyists would argue that only in London is there an obsession with internet speeds. Is Britain an internet laggard or not? For much of the rest of the country, the internet is used for casual shopping and some light emailing. Where it is behind other countries is in the delivery of ultra-fast fibre broadband direct to homes.
