Although today's coronavirus death toll is marked improvement in the course of the pandemic, The Lancet's editor has blasted the Government for allowing thousands of needless coronavirus deaths. Sir Patrick Vallance, the chief scientific adviser, has said there was 'relatively little room for manoeuvre' in easing the lockdown measures.
