Britain's 'illegal immigration' bill makes progress through parliament


Britain's Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has made cracking down on immigration one of his five key promises this year. The proposed "Illegal immigration bill" has now passed its first hurdle to becoming law after a Labour party amendment to try and defeat the bill failed. A majority of 312 members of parliament (MPs) voted in favor of its continuation and 249 against the bill continuing. Demonstrators protesting against the Illegal Migration Bill in Parliament Square, London, during the second reading of the the bill in the House of Commons this evening. The Illegal Migration bill, in contrast, says White "will receive 12 hours [of] detailed scrutiny."
