Aron Gelbard, cofounder and CEO of Bloom & Wild has bought a French rival to bolster its push into Europe's online flower delivery market. Bloom & Wild, which raised $41 million (£30 million) and $27 million (£20 million) in debt, to fund the deal, and the acquisition of Dutch online florist Bloomon in April. Bloom & WildGelbard said plucking his French and Dutch rivals would help Bloom & Wild develop its flower subscription, and house plant delivery service. “Bergamotte has leant heavily into plants which is a fast growing part of the £22 billion plant and flower market in Europe,” says Gelbard.
