British commandos have seized a massive 2.6 tonnes drugs haul with a street value of more than £11 million. In a ten hour operation Royal Marines stormed a suspect ship in the Arabian Sea that was carrying heroin, crystal methamphetamine and hashish. That haul was the largest ever seizure of methamphetamines by the Royal Navy in the Gulf. A spokesperson for Combined Maritime Forces said:“The Royal Navy, working with the Combined Maritime Forces, has carried out another successful operation to stop illicit substances reaching Europe. The UK supports several operations and multi-national task forces in the Middle East in order to protect international and British interests.
