A British man has been arrested in Ukraine on suspicion of spying for Russia and arranging political assassinations. Ross David Cutmore is alleged to have imported and distributed weapons for the killing of three prominent Ukrainians since 2024. While he was initially reported to be a British Army veteran, The Telegraph understands he is not thought to have any formal military background. The only record matching his name suggests he attended Glasgow and Strathclyde University Officers’ Training Corps for a year, before leaving of his own accord. A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We are providing consular assistance to a British man who is detained in Ukraine.”
