Another 44 per cent even claim it helps them to stay relaxed and a fifth believe they work harder when plugged in. The study also found the average worker spends two-and-a-half hours of their working day listening to music. And a fifth aren't able to listen to music while they work at all, despite a sixth claiming they struggle to work without it. The study also found that in a third of workplaces, music is played over speakers in a communal area. A spokesman from Panasonic added: "The British are a nation of music lovers, with many liking to play some tunes from dawn until dusk."
