Then, it was the institution of the new "Wild Card" rule that rendered that Shakeup completely pointless mere weeks later. And if the Wild Card rule is a crutch, then so is the return of Lesnar. The issue with that strategy is that, despite WWE viewing Lesnar as a massive draw, there isn't much evidence, at least evidence that is publicly available, that Lesnar is the attraction WWE thinks he is. WWE wants Lesnar to be its saving grace, but Lesnar can't be that because he doesn't solve the real issue that is making WWE downright unwatchable at times. What WWE needs is better storytelling, and that's something that Lesnar can't give the company, no matter how much Vince McMahon thinks Lesnar is the answer to all its problems.
