Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon are £12m apart in their valuations of Bruno Fernandes and reports in Portugal indicate the prospective transfer is at risk of collapsing. Sporting chiefs are said to be holding out for £55m (€65m) for their star man, who is set to play in tonight’s showdown with cross-city rivals Benfica. United fans had been hoping the Primeira Liga clash would be Fernandes’ last in a Sporting shirt and that he would then make his Red Devils debut against Burnley next week. United have until January 31st to hammer out a deal for Fernandes and all sides want to do business, with Sporting in desperate need of cash due to their financial woes.
