Richard Bruton has said that he will be fighting his corner for extra funding in the budget as he set out a plan which he hopes will make the Irish education system the best in Europe within a decade. The strategy seeks to target areas where schools and third-level institutions have traditionally lagged behind, and will put greater emphasis on languages, technology, critical thinking and mental health.
