Buildings evacuated in Dubai after debris falls from ‘aerial interception’
Buildings around the Dubai Marina were evacuated on Saturday after debris from a missile interception damaged the facade of a high-rise building in the city. In a statement posted on social media, the Dubai Media Office reported that there were no injuries. The statement read: “The competent authorities in Dubai dealt with an incident resulting from debris falling on the facade of a tower in the Dubai Marina area, as a result of a successful aerial interception. No injuries were reported.”The Dubai Marina is located near many of the city’s major tourist attractions and institutions, including the American University in Dubai and Dubai Marina Mall. Residents of Dubai and Abu Dhabi received warnings on their mobile phones about incoming missiles.
