Resident Tom Masinde said it was shocking for a mother to burn a child using hot soup over a meal. They said Christopher Simiyu, 23, drank soup and ate 'mtura' for Sh20 at the joint in Chwele market, Kabuchai constituency. Residents torched a nyama choma joint in Bungoma on Tuesday saying its owner and her sons attacked a man who failed to pay for a meal. "I left and went out to buy mtura but the woman followed me and poured very hot soup on me, burning me on the shoulders and back," he said. Chwele OCPD Joseph Mwenje said they were searching for the woman and her sons who could not be found after the incident.
