At first, the Cynthia Williams-Singleton was in disbelief that she had been sentenced to serve 27-months in federal prison for wire fraud. Bureau of Prisons is reaching out on a case-by-case basis to prosecutors about delaying sentencing. She was initially set to surrender to Federal Prison Camp in Alderson, West Virginia, a minimum security facility holding over 800 female inmates. The DSCC evaluates those sentenced to prison and determines the appropriate facility and a date to report (for self-surrenders). Unfortunately, many local jails are refusing to admit such inmates at this time.”The BOP handles self-surrenders everyday.
