Bus sign's orientation causing confusion in Wellington's Oriental BayFAIRFAX NZ The bus stop near the pedestrian crossing on Oriental Parade has a new electronic sign facing away from the actual bus stop shelter, meaning people have to walk out of the shelter in rain just to view the sign. Bus stop 7515 on Wellington's Oriental Parade is a slice of paradise, but things are not quite right today. Should commuters want to check the real-time display to see how far away their bus is, they need to step out of the historic brick bus shelter and brave the elements. Buses cannot stop directly outside the shelter because of a pedestrian crossing right outside it, meaning the bus stops signs are a few metres to the east. Evidence at the scene – freshly sewn grass, electrical cordon tape – suggested the new sign was only recently installed.
