PRBusanan Ongbamrungphan advanced to the last 16 of the Badminton Asia Championships 2026 in China but Ratchanok Intanon bowed out in the first round on Wednesday. Busanan defeated Malvika Bansod of India 21-10, 21-19 and will face fourth seed Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the women's singles last 16 at Ningbo Olympic Sports Center. China's Han Yue was another seeded player who went out in the first round as the fifth seed lost to Korean Sim Yu-Jin 21-16, 10-21, 15-21. In the women's singles, Supanida Katethong and Pornpawee Chochuwong were due to play their opening matches later on Wednesday.
