The company announced the news on Tuesday, explaining that it was awaiting "further clarification from the Government with regards to the tiered system", and that due to the preparation required to re-open it was opting to extend the temporary closures instead. Originally, Butlin's had temporarily closed its resorts until Thursday 3rd December as a result of England's second national lockdown, but this has now been extended by a week. The company said that it would be contacting affected holidaymakers and offering them a range of options including a full refund.
