Deputy President Wi?liam Ruto had earlier asked Mr. Bundotich to shelve his bid and fall behind incumbent Governor Jackson Mandago. William Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta categorically told independent candidates who left Jubilee after nominations to step down and support the party ticket holders.
