In a seven-page Resolution of the CA Special 14th Division, dated August 18, 2020, Justice Danton Bueser, chairman, along with Justice Geraldine Fiel-Macaraig, Senior Member and Justice Carlito Calpatura, Junior Member, denied the motion of Ressa for failure to prove that her travel abroad was necessary and she was not a flight risk. Ressa, chief executive officer of online news site Rappler, was convicted of cyberlibel early this year.
