Morocco’s Ambassador to the United Nations in New York visited Bangassou, in the southeast of the Central African Republic, where he was received by Colonel Mounir Ou-Bakha, Commander of the contingent of the Royal Armed Forces deployed in this area within the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). For his part, Hilale praised the dedication of the Moroccan peacekeepers, their self-sacrifice, and their courage on the ground. He congratulated them for the honorable image that they reflect not only of Morocco, but also of the United Nations, under whose banner they serve in the Central African Republic. A contribution recognized and highly appreciated by senior United Nations officials. He also paid tribute to the memory of the 19 Moroccan peacekeepers who made the ultimate sacrifice, offering their lives in the service of peace, since the establishment of MINUSCA.
