Former Huffington Post Canada exec Brodie Fenlon has been promoted to head up CBC News as general manager and editor in chief, replacing Susan Marjetti as she retires after 35 years at the Canadian public broadcaster. Fenlon joined CBC News in 2013 after having helped launch HuffPo Canada. Fenlon succeeds Marjetti, who is stepping down from her role as general manager of CBC News. “With Susan’s retirement, there is no one better suited and prepared to take the helm of CBC News than Brodie.
