CDC drops 14-day self-quarantine recommendation for international and out-of-state travelers


Since March, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has advised travelers to self-quarantine for 14 days after all international travel, and after domestic travel to states seeing a high rate of coronavirus cases. But the CDC has changed that stance, removing the directions for two-week quarantines from the “After You Travel” section of its coronavirus travel guidance. A map of country-specific health information can be found on the CDC website, and includes a map of reported cases in the United States. Wondering if you should self-quarantine after travel even if you’re visiting a lower-risk destinations and your state doesn’t require it? Don’t travel with someone who is sick,” the CDC’s travel guidance states.
