File photo of Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda Dhaka TribuneThe Election Commission plans to hold the Upazila Parishad Election in MarchChief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has said that the by-election to the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will be held alongside the polls to the upazila parishads around the country. Huda said the new schedule for the DNCC election would also be announced soon. On January 14 last year, another High Court bench had stayed, for six months, the mayoral by-election to the DNCC following two separate petitions. As per the schedule declared by the Election Commission, the by-polls for the DNCC mayoral post were supposed to be held on February 26, 2018. The DNCC mayoral post fell vacant with the death of Annisul Huq on November 30, 2017.
