On 16 March, Salley was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department CID and was detained under the provisions of the Prevention of Terrorism (PTA) over several controversial remarks made by him at a press conference with regard to the law of the country. The Attorney General (AG) Sanjaya Rajaratnam informed the Supreme Court when the case was taken up today (14) that investigations into the media conference held by Azath Salley have been completed.
