The Confraternity of Patients Kenya has called on the Senate to probe the death of a KCSE candidate Velma Ochieng who died after giving birth at Homa Bay. In a statement on Wednesday, the organisation said every Kenyan has a right to access safe, high quality and affordable healthcare. They called on the national and county authority to probe the matter and take action on the people involved. Ochieng died on Monday morning in what her family claimed is negligence by health workers at the hospital. Later, when her condition worsened, medics decided to take her to theatre but she died after delivery.
