CAIRO – 8 March 2021: Egypt’s Health Ministry affirmed that Covid-19 vaccine is 86% safe and effective preventing the virus infection. It was added that the vaccine has proved to be 99% effective in the production of antibodies, and 100% in preventing infections of the moderate and severe cases. The Ministry explained that the vaccine is available for all Egyptians after reaeration via official website. A vaccine shipment – consisting of 300,000 doses - granted by China to Egypt arrived to Cairo International Airport late in February. Health Advisor to the President Mohamed Awad Tag el-Din stated Sunday that Egypt will receive further eight million doses of Astrazeneza vaccine in a few weeks.
