The decision was taken during a provost committee meeting, held at the Vice Chancellor's office on 10 October, according to a press release, signed by CU deputy registrar (Information) . The meeting was presided over by CU acting Vice Chancellor Shireen Akhtar. When contacted, Rezaul Karim, CU assistant proctor said: ''We are undertaking this initiative to ensure the safety, and security of the students residing in the halls . We are hopeful that installation of CCTV cameras will start before the upcoming admission test.''
