Calgary city manager Jeff Fielding leaving post for job at Toronto city hall

Fielding started with the city in 2014, after working as the city manager in Burlington, Ont., and London, Ont. Fielding will soon head east to Toronto, where he’ll begin work April 1 as chief of staff for city manager Chris Murray. “He has the right measure of education, leadership experience and zeal for continuous improvement to make a great contribution to the city and our workforce as a member of our leadership team,” Murray said in an email to City of Toronto staff, Mayor John Tory, and members of council on Tuesday. Mayor Naheed Nenshi is set to make an announcement with Fielding on Tuesday afternoon.
