The state’s TK expansion timeline does not have the youngest 4-year-olds enrolling until the 2025-26 school year. Last year, there were 13,800 TK students enrolled across 317 LAUSD elementary schools. Meanwhile, the public school was also getting anxious. “Everywhere you look, the school district is beating me at that game," she said.
