Glenamaddy Cllr Peter Keaveney told a meeting of Ballinasloe MDC that in all his years as an elected members he’d never seen such annoyance among people. “One parent was told by an inspector that if they put their child on the bus, they would get the gardai to come and take them off. The driver was told if he let the child on, the keys would be taken off him,” claimed an irate Cllr Keaveney at the meeting. Members felt that Co Galway was one of the worst areas in the country to be impacted by a shortage of school bus places after the government introduced free school transport this year...
