Call to tackle flooding outside Coosan graveyardConcerns have been raised to Athlone-Moate Municipal District of Westmeath County Council over road flooding at the entrance to Coosan Graveyard in Athlone. John Gibbons calling on the council to arrange for some flood alleviation works to be carried out at the location. Gibbons described the area as a very busy location for pedestrians and cars, and that it is 'regularly flooded at times of high rainfall'. In parallel, the council said, flood measures would be considered for inclusion in this year's programme in the context of the members' priorities and the funding available.
