Canadian Historical Education and the CIHE Mission
The Canadian Institute for Historical Education has been established to remedy the ignorance and bias that have given rise to attacks on some of Canada’s most important historical figures and their legacies. Thus in 2023, the CIHE began its activities to reclaim the legacies of the accused, and to provide a more balanced interpretation of Canadian history. Our mission is to promote historical literacy through research, education, and engagement in the public square. But our primary mission going forward is to promote a richer, more nuanced understanding of Canadian history through research, education, and responsible public engagement. Best regards,Donald F.
