Dozens of Canadian power crews are heading to Florida to help restore power to millions of people affected by Hurricane Irma. In an update On Tuesday, Florida Power & Light said its "army" of crews had already restored power to 40 per cent of the five million customers affected by Irma in the first 24 hours. Almost everyone should have power restored by the end of day on Sept. 22, except for areas still under water. Nova Scotia Power employees prepared to leave Tuesday morning to help restore power to Florida residents. She also said Nova Scotia Power will pull its crews back if severe weather heads toward Atlantic Canada.
