Romanian serial crook Neculai Nederi plundered financially and sentimentally valuable jewellery from families in Newcastle, leaving them devastated and heartbroken. He stole a large amount of Asian gold jewellery, along with a designer handbags, perfume and a bank card. The victim said among the stolen items was her deceased mother's wedding ring, a full wedding gold set and Chanel jewellery. The court heard Nederi, 48, of no fixed address, has 53 previous convictions between 2008 and 2024 and has served prison sentences in Romania, Belgium and Germany.
