JOHOR BARU: A 49-year-old carpenter lost his life savings in the blink of an eye after falling prey to an investment scam here. "After talking for about two months, she asked me to help her 'look after' her investment through an application, which I later found out was fake. "She convinced me that it was a good investment and that she had been doing it for about two years. "She later made an investment account for me and told me to deposit money into her bank account for her to help kick-start my investment journey," he said. He then tried to take out his money from the investment account but was told to bank in more money for "government taxes".
