CHATTOGRAM, Feb 18, 2026 (BSS)- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) hasfiled a case against Mahfuzur Rahman Mita, the former Member of Parliament(MP) for Chattogram-3 (Sandwip) Constituency and chairman of Rupali LifeInsurance Company Ltd. The case was filed by the ACC's Chattogram Integrated District Office-2 onWednesday (February 18). ACC Chattogram Integrated District Office-1 Deputy Director Subel Ahmedstated to journalists that the case was filed against Mahfuzur Rahman forallegedly amassing wealth of approximately Taka 9.88 million beyond his knownincome. Mahfuzur Rahman filed income tax returns from the tax year2002-03 to the tax year 2024-25. The case mentioned that the sources of assets totaling Taka 9, 88, 30 147have not been identified as legitimate savings excluding expenses.
