The checkpoints were functioning on Highway No 24 (Chokechai-Dej Udom), Highway No 23 (Ubon Ratchathani-Khon Kaen) and Highway No 227 (Ubon Ratchathani-Nakhon Ratchasima). Officials staffing the checkpoints stopped passenger buses, charter buses, passenger vans and chartered vans to check. A source said red-shirt leaders did not organise transport for supporters of former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra to the Supreme Court, because the leaders have been under close scrutiny by the military.
