The England international’s burgeoning reputation was enhanced in midweek after he was singled out for praise by Pep Guardiola following his goalscoring efforts in Dortmund’s Champions League defeat against Manchester City. So they have a huge talent.’The teenager was pursued actively by Manchester United last summer with the player led a charm offensive by none other than Sir Alex Ferguson. United thought they had won the race to sign Bellingham from Birmingham but the player ultimately decided that Dortmund would be the best place to accelerate his development and it looks to have been a shrewd decision. The clamour to sign a player who has already made his senior international debut is intensifying, however, with Chelsea said to be the Premier League club currently displaying the most interest.
