Chelsea forward and 'sugar freak' Kai Havertz has admitted to struggling with a healthy diet, insisting that he plays better after eating lots of sweets and fizzy drinks on matchdays. Havertz has revealed how he tried and failed to change his dietary habits at Chelsea before being told that sweets and sugary food were actually benefitting him on the pitch. His eating plan involves guzzling down a variety of sweets at half-time and consuming fizzy drinks such as Coca-Cola and Fanta after matches. 'You probably noticed (on Saturday), I drink coke after the game and I need sweets and stuff, because that gives me strength and energy.' Chelsea will need Havertz firing on all cylinders at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, as the Blues host fellow strugglers Liverpool in their first match since the departure of sacked boss Graham Potter.
