The Frenchman has found playing time limited at Stamford Bridge since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival and he’s keen to play regular football again. Giroud joined Chelsea from rivals Arsenal in 2018 and he leaves the club having scored 39 times in 119 appearances. Chelsea recently activated an extension clause to keep Giroud at the club for another 12 months and Milan therefore decided to meet the Frenchman’s £1m release clause.
