Bettinelli, 21, joins the Blues on a free transfer after leaving west London rivals Fulham at the end of last season. He spent almost 15 years at Craven Cottage, making 120 appearances for the club but playing back-up to France international Alphonse Areola in the Premier League last season. ‘I know the area very well so it’s been a dream of mine to come over to this side and it’s finally happened. The Blues signed Spain international Kepa for a record £72million in 2018 but he has struggled in west London and was replaced by 2020 summer signing Mendy.
