It was a mixed staring XI that Thomas Tuchel fielded, with players involved at Euro 2020 still not involved. It was goalless at the break and Chelsea made six changes, with Broja among the half-time changes. Bournemouth took the lead just after the hour mark thanks to Emiliano Marcondes nodding in a header from close range as the Chelsea defence went missing. This was shortly after David Brooks missed a very easy chance, which kept the Premier League side in contention.
